More than 3,000 students from around the state participated in competitive events and leadership activities, and Virginia Beach\u2019s students took home some big honors.<\/p>\n<p>Kempsville High School DECA chapter took home 19 awards at the conference, and 30 students advanced from the district contest to the state contest. Eight students will represent Kempsville at the International Career Development Conference in April in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/slc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3254\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/slc-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"slc\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/slc-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/slc-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/slc-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a>Among the awards, Kempsville High School&#8217;s School Store, The Tradn&#8217; Post, was recognized as a Gold Certified School Based Enterprise.\u00a0The school store is operated by the Advanced Fashion Marketing classes.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Kempsville High School DECA officers were also selected as members of National DECA Honor Society. Eight students are also eligible to advance to the International Career Development Conference. Among the awards Landstown took home was a Blue Chip Award for its annual report as well being named the largest DECA Chapter in Region 4. He will also be advancing to DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando.
