Kellam students have been accomplishing some major feats &#8211; in a variety of areas &#8211; in just the past couple of months.<\/p>\n<p>The Kellam High School Drama Department recently conducted its TOTS (Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat) program.\u200b Students in various clubs around the school collected canned food on Halloween to donate to the Southeastern Virginia Food Bank. All total, Kellam High School students collected 12,308 pounds of food for needy families.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1314\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1314\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Fotor1202114657.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1314\" alt=\"Kellam students collected 12,308 pounds of food for needy families.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Fotor1202114657.png\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Fotor1202114657.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Fotor1202114657-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Fotor1202114657-400x300.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1314\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kellam students collected 12,308 pounds of food for needy families.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kellam teacher Karen Johnston and her English Honors 12 students\u00a0placed first\u00a0in the\u00a0Virginia Society for Technology in Education\u2019s (VSTE) statewide, Multi-media Challenge.\u00a0\u00a0Both Johnston and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/compass-keepers-club-laura-howell\/\">Laura Howell<\/a>, a computer resource specialist at Kellam, will be traveling to Roanoke this month to present and receive their state award. \u200b<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Kellam High School Marching Knights traveled to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for the USBAnds Mid-Atlantic States.
