Sirens blared, lights flashed, horns honked and children chatted with excitement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is my Superbowl!\u201d exclaimed Schubart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal is to create excitement for all the students about different career options and what better way for them to do that than touching the trucks and asking all kinds of questions,\u201d Schubart said.<\/p>\n<p>Students spent the morning going from vehicle to vehicle learning about different jobs. Each carried a passport with sample questions and empty spaces to be stamped by truck volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>A group of kindergarteners couldn\u2019t stand still waiting their turn to pat the noses of Titan and Jusino.\u00a0 The horses belong to the Virginia Beach Police Mounted Patrol and were ridden by police officers Ryan Ashby and Matt Ward. The students were curious about the horses\u2019 diet and their birthdays.<\/p>\n<p>Nearby, some second graders crowded around a 2008 Corvette. Daniel Domenech explained that the racecar participates in a motorsport called drifting. One student asked, \u201cCan I sit in it?\u201d while another admired the car\u2019s pink wheels. Dorian Sejko, age 5, placed his \u201cCelebrate Good Nutrition\u201d sticker on his shirt after touring the truck. \u201cI saw a fryer and a pan,\u201d he said. \u201cI like french fries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Second grader Aniya Miller was intrigued by the \u201cMosquito Joe\u201d truck.\u00a0 \u201cI like how they help us not get bit by mosquitos,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Beach Emergency Communications &amp; Citizens Services brought along Cellphone Sally, a large stuffed cellphone promoting what to do in emergency situations. \u00a0When asked what number to dial in an emergency, shouts of \u201c911\u201d erupted.<\/p>\n<p>Jacob Sherlock with Conquest USA construction company showed off a Caterpillar 315 excavator. \u201cThey wanted to know how hard it is to drive and make turns,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-12098\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Truck8-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>Specialist Alexander Belanger with the Army National Guard stood by a military Humvee and gave out lots of high-fives.\u00a0 Students were very curious and asked lots of questions, he said. \u201cThey want to know about the different components inside, and the tires, bolts and screws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Samantha O\u2019Donald with First Landing State Park, also known as \u201cRanger Sam,\u201d stood by her truck.\u00a0 Some kindergarteners were curious about what kinds of animals were in the park, such as rabbits and squirrels.
