Next school year marks the 25th anniversary of the Virginia Beach Education Foundation (VBEF). To mark this milestone, the Foundation will award $125,000 in teacher and schoolwide grants to deserving educators throughout the school division.
VBEF grants are awarded to support innovative and engaging projects that are not funded through the school division’s budget. Spring and fall grant deadlines are May 6 and Oct. 7 respectively.
Spring review process – applications due May 6:
- Schoolwide Grants – $2,000 to $5,000 offered for projects that impact at least 25 percent of the school’s student population or one grade level.
- Innovative Learning Grants – up to $2,000 for innovative learning projects benefiting students.
Fall review process – applications due Oct. 7:
- Sustainability Impact Project Grants – up to $1,000 for projects that involve math and science and engage students in the process of researching aspects of our local watershed.
- Innovative Learning Grants – up to $2,000 for innovative learning projects benefiting students.
