On behalf of the 2015 Citywide Teacher of the Year Selection Committee, Dr. Sheila Magula announced the five finalists for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools’ Citywide Teacher of the Year, which were selected from all of the individual schools’ teachers of the year.  The 2015 Citywide Teacher of the Year finalists are as follows:

Dorothy “Dee” P. Baker, Mathematics—Grade 8 at Plaza Middle School

Jamie D. Carpenter, Biology—Grades 9-12 at Princess Anne High School

Kenneth L. Magee II, Physical Education—Grades K-5 at North Landing Elementary School

Bevin K. Reinen, Special Education Inclusion—Grade 1 at Three Oaks Elementary School

Laura E. Silverman, General Education Inclusion—Grade 3 at Rosemont Elementary School
