Kempsville Meadows calls out a kindness challenge to all schools

Like many elementary schools this year, Kempsville Meadows Elementary School (KMES) took part in the Great Kindness Challenge, a national effort dedicated to creating a culture of kindness on school campuses.

However, KMES teachers, staff, parents and students took their challenge a step further. They pushed themselves to perform 100 acts of kindness in just two weeks – from the start of the challenge to the 100th day of school (Feb. 11).

Pictures of these kind acts poured in from classrooms as well as from parents showing students acting kindly. They were posted to the KMES Kindness Challenge Facebook page.

The school met its goal with time to spare.

CaptureAfter doing so well with the challenge, the KMES community did not want to stop there. At a school rally, students threw down the gauntlet and challenged all of the schools in the school division to try and show 100 acts of kindness in two weeks.
