PIA introduces the Data Video Analysis Series

In an effort to make the cold, hard facts of student performance data come to life for teachers and faculty, the Department of Planning, Innovation and Accountability has launched a new Data Video Analysis Series.

The series will feature installments that focus on individual Key Academic Measures. Every installment will have three individual videos highlighting a school from the elementary, middle and high school levels. These schools have achieved success in the featured Key Academic Measure, and will have their administrator explain some of the tactics and strategies staff employed to reach those successes.  Each video is approximately 12-15 minutes in length.

The first installment of videos can be viewed now, and is focused on the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI). Seatack Elementary, which had the largest gain in student reading proficiency at the third-grade level, will be the featured elementary school. Kempsville Middle, which had the largest gain in student reading proficiency at the sixth-grade level, will be the featured middle school. And, finally, Landstown High School, which had the largest gain in student reading proficiency at the ninth-grade level, will be the featured high school.

Feel free to access the videos via the hyperlinks above, or you can download them on The Stream.  The next installment is slated for a mid-October release and will feature the 2013 spring IPT results for elementary and middle school and the 2013 winter CWRA results for high school.
