Princess Anne High School staff had cause for celebration at the October faculty meeting. Over the past several years, the school has worked towards improving the graduation rate, especially for key cohorts, including in African Americans and students with special needs.
When last year’s data was revealed, everyone was shocked by the growth. The school’s graduation rate increased for all students by 4 percent, and staff sawa 14 percent increase for African Americans and a 17 percent increase for students with disadvantages.
As if the improvement in the graduation rate was not enough, the administration also rewarded the staff for their continued hard work with a “Cavaliers Graduate” t shirt and Mr. Softee ice cream.
