We all need help at some point in our life. That’s where Humana’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work-Life Services comes in. Whether you need to speak with someone about a serious personal problem, you’re having trouble at work, or you just need help figuring out where to take your dog when you’re going out of town; Humana’s specialists can help!

Beginning Jan. 1, 2016, Humana will become the new EAP and Work-Life Services provider for VBCPS. Humana will bring a whole host of services to help you and your household members better cope with everyday life issues that can affect you at home and at work. You’ll be able to call a toll-free number anytime, day or night, to talk with an experienced consultant who can help you find solutions. The program is confidential and won’t cost you anything but a few minutes of your time.

EAP and Work-Life Services will offer:

• Assistance and counseling in person or over the telephone with a licensed counselor (five confidential counseling sessions per issue per year for you and any members of your household)
• Free 30-minute consultations with attorneys and financial counselors
• Assessment and assistance from a Work-Life specialist who is an expert on things like:
  • Child care
  • Adult care
  • Parenting and discipline
  • Adoption
  • Paying for college
  • Home or appliance repairs
  • Services and education for children with special needs
  • Housing issues
  • Vacation planning
  • Pet care
  • Adjusting to retirement
  • Adoption, pregnancy, and infertility
  • Recreational activities
  • And many other topics

Getting assistance from EAP and Work-Life Services can help you focus on your work and maintain a healthy work-life balance. You will receive a home mailing from Humana by the beginning of January, giving you details on how to take advantage of all EAP and Work-Life Services has to offer in the new year.
