The new Reading, Writing and Science Standards of Learning (SOL) tests are now available on the Virginia Department of Education website for viewing or downloading.

Narrated demonstrations of the items from the new technology-enhanced Reading, Writing & Science SOL tests are now available on the SOL Practice Items page of the VDOE website. The narrated demonstration of technology-enhanced Mathematics SOL test items posted in spring 2012 has been updated and is also available.

Additionally, if you are still wondering about how the VDOE’s Teacher Direct program can assist you, the VDOE encourages you to watch this video featuring Virginia teachers discusimgs the benefits of subscribing to TeacherDirect and receiving weekly updates from VDOE on new SOL resources and information.  For administrators, the 1:45 minute video — produced with the assistance of the Virginia Lottery and Powhatan County Public Schools — is ideal for use in presentations and staff meetings to promote TeacherDirect. Flash and MP4 versions are available on the main TeacherDirect page of the VDOE website.
