After competing (and winning) a spot on the Virginian-Pilot’s Dream Team of Bakers, Computer Resource Specialist Deana Hubbell took first place at the State Fair of Virginia. Her baklava won in the Honey Cookery’s Bar and Brownie Category. Hubbell’s recipe will soon be published in the local newspaper. Independence Middle School is proud of its two-time State Fair Champ.
