The Virginia Beach Education Foundation (VBEF) will celebrate innovative teaching at its Pearls of Wisdom Oyster Roast and Barbeque Saturday, April 18, from 1-5 p.m. at the 24th Street Park in Virginia Beach.

March 18 is the last day for VBCPS employees to buy a reduced-price ticket at $35. On March 19, tickets will sell for the general admission price of $45 per adult. Tickets for children ages 6-12 may be purchased for $10.

The menu for this all-you-can-eat buffet style event includes: oysters (raw and roasted), clam chowder, pork BBQ, fried chicken, fried fish and hush puppies. Live music will be provided by Karnivále.

Funds raised from the sale of Pearls of Wisdom tickets benefit VBCPS teachers and students through Adopt A+ Grants awarded by the VBEF. To see how Foundation grants are supporting innovative and creative learning programs in our schools, visit vbef.org.
