First Colonial staff present at ABA Conference

Legal Studies Academy (LSA) Coordinator Angelique Phillips and LSA teachers Aaron Pratt, Joseph Winn and Melissa Disher presented at the American Bar Association Division for Public Education’s National Law-Related Education Conference in Philadelphia Oct. 29-30.

ABA ConferenceThe conference explored the theme The Bill of Rights in the Digital Era to consider how, and if, the digital era of the 21st century reshapes our understanding and teaching of the fundamental guarantees included in the first ten amendments to the Constitution.

LSA presenters led a session entitled “Digital Citizenship: Navigating the 21st Century Classroom that reviewed current moral, ethical, and legal issues regarding the use of technology in the 21st century classroom and further explored how the implementation of technology has created a need to educate youth on the concept of Digital Citizenship.
