In an effort to raise money for Operation Smile, W.T. Cooke Elementary held a special “Ugly Tie Contest.”

Cody Matthews and Jon Tierney displayed their ugly ties on the morning announcements every day for one week. Every day during lunch, students may donate money to fill out a ballot and cast their votes for the ugliest tie.

Matthews, it was determined by the vote, had the ugliest ties. More importantly, more than $100 was donated to Operation Smile.
