Cabotaje and Caralivanos named Outstanding Teachers of the Gifted

Kim Cabotaje, gifted resource teacher at Landstown Elementary School, and Leyla Caralivanos, fifth-grade teacher at Kemps Landing/Old Donation School, were both recently named as Outstanding Teachers of the Gifted in VBCPS.

Dr. Veleka Gatling, executive director of the Office of Differentiated Programs and Professional Learning, along with gifted program coordinators, Barbara Kennedy and Robin Schumaker, and instructional specialist, Dornswalo Wilkins-McCorey, had the honor of presenting Cabotaje and Caralivanos with the prestigious award.

These two outstanding gifted education teachers will represent VBCPS well as our nominees for the Virginia Association for the Gifted Region II Award.
