The Environmental Protection Agency, as required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of October 1986, requires all school facilities to have an inspection for asbestos-containing building materials and to have a detailed management plan identifying these materials. The AHERA Management Plans are available in each school’s main office for review by parents, teachers and employee organizations. If you have questions about your school’s management plan, discuss them with your principal, or call the Industrial Hygienist, Office of Environmental and Energy Management at (757) 263-2500.

This doesn’t seem sufficient. If there is a threat of asbestos–those documents should be accessible online, not just for those willling to risk showing their face and asking for them in the offices!
