Several staff members from across the division have been asked to take on great responsibilities at local and regional events as well as to serve on professional committees.
Virginia Beach’s administration is proud to have the school system so well represented and wishes the best in all future endeavors.
Congratulations to the following Virginia Beach staff:
- Troy Walton, 8th grade math teacher at Salem Middle School, was selected by Dr. Sheila Magula to participate in the Governor’s Professional Development Symposium at Old Dominion University.
- Meri Riddick, Kempsville High School English teacher, presented at the Virginia Society for Technology in Education earlier this month. Riddick co-presented “Collaborate, Create, Analyze and Engage 21st Century Skills in Action!” – a demonstration on how to use iPad applications for collaboration, virtual lessons, engagement, communication, creativity, organization and analysis.
- Emily Bilger, 7th and 8th grade math teacher at Salem Middle School, was selected to serve on the 2013 VMAST Mathmatics Item Review Committee for grades 7 and 8 Mathematics.
