Salem High’s SRO named ‘Top Cop’

Salem High School Resource Officer, Herbert Brandon, was recently recognized as the “Top Cop” for the Virginia Beach Police Department. In order to be honored, Brandon was nominated for his “high level of commitment to a safer Hampton Roads community.”

IMG_1326The award was given at the 15th Annual Celebration of the Greater Hampton Roads Regional Crime Lines, Inc. Brandon was one of 21 officers honored at the event. The celebration recognizes the partnership between law enforcement, media and citizens in the fight against crime.

  1. I had the privilege to work with Officer Brandon during my tenure as principal at Salem HS. Herb is quite extraordinary and had a tremendous impact on helping create a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and parents. Congratulations on a most deserving honor!

    1. Officer Brandon is a wonderful person and colleague who is always willing to help students. I work with Office Brandon at Salem HS and he never hesitates to help when I need his support in encouraging students to attend school or with making better life decisions.
