Hildebrandt, Carr named VAACE statewide winners

At the recent Virginia Association for Adult and Continuing Education (VAACE) conference, the Adult Learning Center’s (ALC) Nancy Hildebrandt, an English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teacher, was recognized as the Most Outstanding Adult Education Teacher in the state.

Edna Carr, Adult Basic Education (ABE) volunteer at the ALC, was named the Most Outstanding Adult Education Volunteer in the state. Nominated by ALC staff member Dianne Dollins, Carr was formally recognized by the VAACE at its conference this fall.

Carr was named by the Adult Learning Center as its 2015 Volunteer of the Year in the spring was recognized by the school division at a citywide celebration last school year. To learn more about Carr’s volunteer work at the Adult Learning Center, read this feature on The Core from April.
