The Virginia Beach Special Education Advisory Committee will meet Oct. 5, at 9 a.m. at the Special Education Annex, 1413 Laskin Road, Room 25. For more information, call 757-263-2066. The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is appointed by the local School Board. The membership includes parents of children with disabilities, individuals with disabilities, local school personnel and representatives from community agencies that provide services to and persons with disabilities.

In addition, the Community Advisory Committee for Gifted Education will have its next meeting, Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at First Colonial High School. The purpose of the gifted education community advisory committee is to advise the School Board of the educational needs of all gifted students in the school division.
