Larkspur Middle’s School Resource Officer Grant Wylie has been the subject of a social media firestorm. Wylie, after serving traffic duty, pulled into a local gas station. There, he saw family was in need – asking for any donations people could provide. Wylie asked them to move their vehicle to the pump, and there he paid for a full tank of gas.
A man also at the gas station saw the entire encounter and posted it to his Facebook page. Since that time, the post has been seen by more than 6,000 people, and Wylie’s story has made the local news.
Staff at Larkspur says this act of generosity comes as no surprise.
“The great thing about the story that is not reported is that Grant just came off of 35 minutes of traffic duty in 100 degree heat,” said Larkspur Principal Matt Delaney. “He still has the character to provide a helping hand. Needless to say, we are so happy to have him at Larkspur.”
