Spring VBEF grant applications due June 12

The Virginia Beach Education Foundation (VBEF) offers two grant cycles for teachers to apply for funding for their innovative and creative learning projects. Thanks to United Way designations and VBEF annual events such as the Pearls of Wisdom fundraiser and June golf tournament, $100,000 is available to be dispersed for grant proposals during the 2015-16 school year.

Friday, June 12, is the deadline for teachers to apply for funding in the spring grant cycle as follows:

  • School wide Grants – $2,000 to $5,000 offered for projects that impact at least 25 percent of the school’s student population or one grade level.
  • Innovative Learning Grants – up to $2,000 for innovative learning projects benefiting students.

Staff may download Innovative Learning Grant and Schoolwide Grant applications for the spring grant cycle from the Media and Communications Forms page on vbcps.com.

Funding for Innovative Learning Grants will also be available during the VBEF fall grant cycle along with Sustainability Impact Project Grants. Sustainability Impact Project Grants are funded up to $1,000 for projects that involve math and science and engage students in the process of researching aspects of our local watershed. The fall grant deadline is Oct. 9.
