In keeping with the VBCPS goal to establish personnel selection, retention and promotion practices to identify and train future leaders, the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) has certified Ashley Fussell as a Certified Supervisor of Pupil Transportation (CSPT).
Fussell, a special needs transportation area supervisor for VBCPS, as a candidate for certification, was subject to an objective peer review of the candidate’s education, career experience, an achievement in the field of pupil transportation operations as well as a rigorous job-specific written examination that tests a candidate’s knowledge of national standards for safe and efficient pupil transportation.
A Certified Supervisor of Pupil Transportation must have the ability to carry out policy and program directives. Supervisors are expected to administer programs, provide leadership, and engage in the development of materials within limitations established by their management.
Fussell is now entitled to use the professional designation CSPT on all professional correspondence.
