Get news and information regarding school delays and closings, upcoming events and more by signing up for AlertNow text messaging. This convenient and effective communication tool will enable you to stay connected with your school and the division.
Signing up is simple. Visit the Wise Employee Self Service (ESS) page on vbcps.com and login using your network credentials. Once in, click on personal information, then the AlertNow tab and enter your cellphone number in the text messaging field. Please note it may take 24-48 hours for your number to be enrolled in the AlertNow system.
Once enrolled, you will receive a confirmation text from VBCPS. All confirmation text messages and subsequent alerts will come from 23177 or 63079.
If you later decide you don’t want text messages sent to your phone, simply reply “STOP VBCPS” to opt-out. Please note that your phone number will continue to appear in the ESS field, however, you will not receive further text messages. If, at any point, you decide you want to opt back in to receive text messages, simply text “SUBSCRIBE VBCPS” to 23177 or 63079.
Text messaging is the latest tool in the AlertNow toolbox. Staff may also sign up for phone calls and emails through the rapid notification system as well. VBCPS launched text messaging for parents earlier in the fall.
