24th Annual Virginia Beach Reading Council Fall Conference coming soon

Don’t miss the 24th Annual Virginia Beach Reading Council Fall Conference, which will be held Saturday, Nov.3 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Larkspur Middle School.

The conference will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Richard Allington, professor of education at the University of Tennessee who has performed extensive research on reading/learning disabilities and effective instruction, especially in classroom settings.

Additionally, Diane Neese will be the conference’s closing speaker. Neese is the director of Literacy Partnerships for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She is currently working nationally with administrators and educators on shifting instruction to ensure students are College and Career Ready.

The VBRC Reading Conference is pre-approved for four District PLP points.

The conference costs $15 if registration is received by Oct.15; it is $20 to register after the 15th. For more information, contact Tina Alsop at 705-9070.
