Borgerding earns Annual Teacher Award from The John Marshall Foundation

The John Marshall Foundation recognized Mr. Dennis J. Borgerding, United States history teacher at Kemps Landing Magnet School, with its Annual Teacher Award.

The award is given to any public or private middle or high school classroom teacher in Virginia who has been teaching for a minimum of five years and has demonstrated a deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for the United States Constitution.

Borgerding’s devotion to helping students understand the Constitution through his involvement in the national We the People, the Citizen and the Constitution program was cited in his award presentation. Borgerding and his students successfully won two Virginia We the People State Championships during the four years his team has competed. In addition, Borgerding also serves as a state mentor for the We the People program.
