Green Run High School’s David Hopson and Providence Elementary’s Christina Innis earned National Tourism Week Attraction Awards from the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Hopson earned the Attraction Award for his work with BeachStreet USA. According to his award write up, Hopson “has been on the ‘front-line’ of BeachStreet USA for 15 years as a performer.” He has directed and choreographed the Virginia Beach BeachStreet All-Stars entertainment at the oceanfront for the past nine years, which includes auditioning and mentoring more than 500 Virginia Beach high school students.
Innis won in the category of Restaurant Host/Hostess. Innis spends her days as a literacy teacher at Providence, but spends her evenings serving and helping guests at Rockafeller’s Restaurant. According to her award write up, Innis “is always ready to give 100 percent at every shift and her professional and friendly attitude makes her approachable by all customers.”
