Sowala named Nurse of the Year

Heidi Sowala, special needs nurse at Pembroke Elementary School, received the 2013 Virginia Beach Nurse of the Year Award. Sowala earned the award for outstanding service to the students and staff of Virginia Beach City Public Schools.

Mary Shaw, coordinator of Health Services, and Kate Hunter, Virginia Beach School Nurse Association president-elect, presented Sowala with the award at Pembroke.
