Tanvitha Kondeypati, Lucy Scarbo, Jillian Gatz, Sadie Follin, Ari Cohen and Josh Lichty bought plants at North Landing Elementary School’s PTA plant sale. Maliah Merton and Lynzy Hernandez worked together by pulling weeds in the school’s community garden at Seatack Elementary An Achievable Dream Academy. Red Mill Elementary School students Tabitha Deisch, Adyson Hoock, Carleigh Porter and Mackenzie Lemn successfully coded their Dash robot to follow the edges of their scalene triangle. Woodstock Elementary School students read the story of Velma Gratch and the way cool butterfly. Kempsville Elementary staff members were volunteers for national speaker and media sensation Gerry Brooks. Fairfield Elementary school teachers dressed up and delivered pizzas to students for a Papa John’s fundraiser. Over 150 pizzas were delivered throughout the evening. The money raised will help purchase more flexible seating for the classroom. North Landing Elementary fifth graders visited False Cape State Park recently to enjoy the flora and fauna as well as assisting with it’s beauty by picking up trash. Yasoda Mukkamala from Salem Middle School was named 2019 VBCPS Secondary Citywide Assistant of the Year. Jackson Kubin, 10th grade student at Princess Anne High School, has ranked 1st nationally in the 84th annual Le Grand Concours, a national competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
