Bayside High School alum and activity coordinator earns national recognition

Lisa Corprew, activity coordinator at Bayside High School, was recently recognized as a recipient of the 2018 Distinguished Service Awards given by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). Corprew was honored Dec. 18 in San Antonio, Texas, during a banquet at the 49th annual National Athletic Directors Conference.

Corprew has quite a history with the school from where she graduated. She joined the Bayside staff in 1995 and over the years has served as a teacher assistant, adaptive health and physical education teacher, tournament director and both basketball and softball coach. Bayside’s principal James Miller said, “When I think of Bayside, I picture Lisa Corprew in my mind. I have valued her insight and opinion since the first day I walked into Bayside 10 years ago. Her recognition is well-deserved.”

The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to individuals from within the NIAAA membership in recognition of their length of service, special accomplishments and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels. Nominations are submitted by state athletic directors associations, screened by the NIAAA Awards Committee and selected by the NIAAA Board of Directors.
