A new parking lot currently under construction will double the number of parking spaces at the Plaza Annex.
The capital project will add 130 spots to the existing 124 parking spaces bringing the total to 254.
“Additional parking is something that our customers have requested for several years,” said Tony Arnold, executive director of Facilities Services. “Currently, customers oftentimes find themselves parking in dirt, sometimes muddy areas, in the rear of the building due to lack of spaces. That will all change after the holidays when the parking lot is complete. Guests and staff in the building will have access to more than 100 brand new, paved parking spaces.”
To alleviate the number of visitors during construction, Plaza Annex departments with groups of more than 15 people have arranged to hold events at alternate locations.
In addition, a shuttle will also be available from the Lynnhaven Mall to the Plaza Annex on days when the Consolidated Benefits Office expects a higher-than-normal volume of customers, such as during Open Enrollment. The CBO will provide shuttle service details in their communication for those events.
The parking lot is scheduled to be completed in late November.Tell your friends! Follow us!
