The Virginia Beach Education Foundation (VBEF) provides funding to Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) teachers and staff to support innovative projects and learning programs not already funded by the school division. The foundation will award $150,000 in grant funding for the 2017-18 school year.
The deadline for VBCPS staff members to submit VBEF Innovative Learning Grant applications is Oct. 6. Each approved grant awards up to $2,000 for innovative learning projects that benefit students.
Awards will be made based on how well a grant project:
- aligns with the division’s strategic framework Compass to 2020;
- complements, supports and enhances VBCPS curricula and instructional objectives;
- supports classroom instruction and improves student achievement/learning and/or fosters students’ social emotional development; and
- implements innovative practices and opportunities that may be replicable divisionwide.
The Innovative Learning Grant application is available on vbcps.com in the Forms section for Media and Communications under the Education Foundation category. Staff members must email completed applications to email@example.com by Friday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m.
