Virginia Beach Middle School’s (VBMS) football team and cheerleading squad visited one of their feeder schools last year to promote service learning and give back to the community. They continued the tradition this year by visiting Seatack Elementary An Achievable Dream Academy Oct. 20 to read to and talk with students in kindergarten and first grade.
Student athletes were dressed in pink uniforms as part of their recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Members of each VBMS fall sports team wear pink jerseys at all their home games during the month.
VBMS students delivered treats to kindergarteners and first graders before leaving. Many of the visitors are Seatack alumni themselves, making it a special visit to their former school.
