Staff members spin support for Bayside leadership workshop

Car washes. Concession stands. Cookie sales.

All are methods schools used by schools to raise money to support student activities and athletics.

Bayside High School (BHS) teacher and SCA adviser Ashley Williamson put out the call for a more active way to support the school’s annual leadership workshop – spin class.

The BHS SCA hosted a fundraiser at TidalWheel Virginia Beach Sept. 10, where 30 teachers and participants donated $25 each to attend a 45-minute instructor led spin class. TidalWheel donated 100 percent of the proceeds from the exercise class. More than $700 was raised to benefit BHS students who may need financial assistance to attend the weekend leadership workshop hosted by the SCA in March at the 4-H Educational Center in Wakefield, Virginia.
