Registration open for Green Schools National Conference

Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) has partnered with the Green Schools National Conference, which will be held here in Virginia Beach March 4-7, 2015.

Throughout the four days, the conference will offer educational workshops, how-to sessions, master classes, and the opportunity to meet some of the country’s leading advocates of the green schools movement. Registration is open now and will continue until March 4.

For those interested in attending, there are full conference tickets as well as one-day passes available.

VBCPS was a natural fit for a partner for the conference given the school division’s dedication to build and maintain schools as energy efficiently as possible. Just this year, VBCPS took home first place from the Virginia School Board Association’s (VSBA) Green Public Schools Challenge.

Additionally, VBCPS has had both the first LEED platinum level K-12 school in the state as well as the state’s first LEED certified public elementary school, which was Hermitage Elementary school in 2005.

  1. I am a program planner for the Adult Learning Center Virginia Beach Public Schools. I am looking to create courses in green workforce areas. I would love to attend with two other work mates.
