Furthermore, the dropout rate of 4.6 percent for the Class of 2017 is also lower than the state\u2019s 5.8 percent rate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7018\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/OTG-Picture-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2592\" height=\"1728\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/OTG-Picture-1.jpg 2592w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/OTG-Picture-1-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/OTG-Picture-1-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/OTG-Picture-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/OTG-Picture-1-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2592px) 100vw, 2592px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These two rates are the highest graduation and lowest graduation rates for the school division since 2008, when the VDOE began collecting data for these reports.<\/p>\n<p>Superintendent Aaron Spence in a school division <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbschools.com\/press_releases\/prfy18\/014.html\">press release<\/a>, congratulated students, teachers, staff and administrators for their continued focus on the needs of students.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s data are continuing good news for the school division which also leads the region and outperforms the nation in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbschools.com\/press_releases\/prfy18\/013.html\">SAT scores<\/a>; achieved <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbschools.com\/press_releases\/prfy18\/006.html\">100 percent SOL accreditation<\/a>; and was recognized by the Governor and VDOE with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbschools.com\/press_releases\/prfy18\/007.html\">VIP Awards<\/a> for exceeding state and federal accountability standards.<\/p>\n<p>Learn more about on-time graduation and dropout rates by visiting the <a href=\"http:\/\/doe.virginia.gov\/statistics_reports\/graduation_completion\/index.shtml\">VDOE\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to the Class of 2017 for achieving the school division\u2019s highest graduation rate and lowest dropout rate.
