The also cared about us, the teachers. Colorful twist-ties were made to look like fun climbing domes. They even made tongue depressors wrapped with duct tape to resemble swings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6232\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story.jpg\" alt=\"Picture 6 Dey Playground Story\" width=\"1296\" height=\"864\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story.jpg 1296w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Picture-6-Dey-Playground-Story-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1296px) 100vw, 1296px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Their designs were so impressive that Principal Bianchi plans on choosing a few of the students to participate in a focus group as the modernization gets underway with the goal of taking those ideas to the division\u2019s facilities planning team.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ricks, she and her fellow classmates are not only excited about their designs, they are also excited to be part of a project that will impact future generations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you grow up and you see all of the other kids playing on the playground, you\u2019ll remember you took part in something exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since the three-year modernization will be completed in phases, a portion of the classes are scheduled to move into classroom portables, known as \u201ccottages,\u201d next school year. When finished, the now 61-year-old school will feature brand-new classrooms with extended learning pods, a new cafeteria, new gym, new library, new offices, a central courtyard, additional parking, site circulation improvements, a new turn lane for added safety off North Great Neck Road and, of course, a new playground!<\/p>\n<p>For more about John B.
