{"id":5610,"date":"2016-10-07T08:14:43","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T12:14:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/?p=5610"},"modified":"2016-10-12T21:09:19","modified_gmt":"2016-10-13T01:09:19","slug":"williams-passes-national-dental-assistant-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/williams-passes-national-dental-assistant-certification\/","title":{"rendered":"Williams passes national dental assistant certification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Summer Williams, who takes part in the dental assisting program at the Center for Technical and Career Education, has passed all three parts for the National Entry Level Dental Assistants (NELDA) Certification, according to the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). This certification is required in order to become a dental assistant.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have watched this very diligent teenager mature into a fine, caring, and highly capable young woman,&#8221; said Antoinette Kahan, Williams\u2019s Dental Assisting I and II instructor. \u201cShe possesses the internal drive, determination and positive work ethic not usually seen in her peer group. Her high academic achievements, zeal for life, and love of humanity will make her a tremendous asset to the workforce, academic institution and dental community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, the DANB\u00a0released this\u00a0certification. According to the DANB, candidates have three years to pass three component exams: Radiation Health and Safety; Infection Control; and Anatomy, Morphology and Physiology.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5613\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Dental-Assisting-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"dental-assisting-2-1\" width=\"5152\" height=\"3864\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Dental-Assisting-2-1.jpg 5152w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Dental-Assisting-2-1-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Dental-Assisting-2-1-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Dental-Assisting-2-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Dental-Assisting-2-1-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 5152px) 100vw, 5152px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As part of the Tech Center Dental Assisting program, Williams&#8217;s\u00a0future career aspirations include studying to become a dental hygienist.
