They carried banjos, drums and guitars.<\/p>\n

The played French horns, trombones and cymbals.<\/p>\n

They shook maracas, tambourines and spoons.<\/p>\n

And all of the instruments that Creeds Elementary School students carried and played were handmade.<\/p>\n

The school celebrated Fine Arts Month by having students create and play their own musical instruments in a schoolwide parade held March 17.\u00a0Led by music teacher Robyn Alexander dressed as a drum major,\u00a0students marched up and down the hallways, through the front door and outside past the Pungo-Blackwater Area Library.<\/p>\n

Community members and library visitors smiled and waved as students,\u00a0many dressed in green for St. Patrick\u2019s Day,\u00a0proudly walked by playing their instruments.\u00a0It was their lucky day to be entertained by the Creeds marching band of musicians.<\/p>\n
