<\/a>Students and families returned to school grounds Aug. 6 for the annual community picnic.\u00a0Attendees enjoyed music, outdoor games and food trucks along with an occasional flash mob dance by students in the gifted dance education program.<\/p>\nNew students and their parents were invited to the event, and student ambassadors stationed throughout the school courtyard and in the building answered questions, offered maps\u00a0and provided directions.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo get to the cafeteria you go through that breezeway and turn right,\u201d said another ambassador to a family.<\/p>\n Back in the courtyard, families ate lunch at picnic tables and on blankets while children played with hula hoops, jump ropes, corn hole boards and giant chess sets.<\/p>\n Nearby, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) offered Kemps Landing\/Old Donation School spirit wear for purchase \u2013 T-shirts printed with the statements: \u201cCreate.
