In celebration of the 100th day of school,Hermitage Elementary School first graders in Connie Stanley&#8217;s class\u00a0collected 100 email messages from\u00a0around the world and then used the messages to find the locations on a world map. Stanley used the opportunity to provide a geography lesson and to teach students\u00a0about each city, state or country. Emails were received from 93 different places including messages from 31 of the\u00a050 U.S. states, the countries of Borneo, Brazil, Costa Rica, England, Guatamala, Japan, Ireland, New Guinea, Scotland, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Egypt, South Korea and Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>A respondent from Bornea sent the students a bag of coffee beans not grown anywhere else in the world. She also sent a treat of powdered mango juice and homemade &#8216;ring&#8217; cookies.
