There are resources available.<\/p>\n<p>In a Parent Connection workshop Tuesday, May 12, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Landstown High School, a licensed clinical social worker and licensed professional counselor will shed light on what is becoming America&#8217;s hidden epidemic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VBCPS_ParentConLogo2012-Color-small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3675\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VBCPS_ParentConLogo2012-Color-small.jpg\" alt=\"VBCPS_ParentConLogo2012-Color small\" width=\"468\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VBCPS_ParentConLogo2012-Color-small.jpg 468w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VBCPS_ParentConLogo2012-Color-small-300x208.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/VBCPS_ParentConLogo2012-Color-small-430x300.jpg 430w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/a>Parents will learn the basics of traumatic events, adverse life events and the effects of what are known as &#8220;Big T&#8221; and &#8220;Little T&#8221; traumatic events. Presenters will share how such events, if left unchecked,\u00a0can\u00a0pervade everyday lives and complicate healthy development, especially in children and adolescents. Parents will be taught warning signs to help tell the difference between normal teenage behavior and behavior that may need treatment.
