By researching Gatorade, Tropicana and contact lenses, the Lady\u2019z Club of Bayside Middle School won a 42-inch Smart TV for the school at the InSolutions’s \u201c2014 How It Is Made Trivia Challenge.”<\/p>\n

Aaron Evans, vice-president of InSolutions, visited recently to present the trophy to sponsor Constance Williams and the Lady\u2019z Club. He said that middle schools across the nation were invited to compete in the STEM challenge, and Bayside Middle was one of two schools in Virginia Beach that entered.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the year Evans had spoken to the Lady\u2019z and Gentleman\u2019s clubs challenging them to learn how things are made and marketed in America. At the awards reception he talked about employment opportunities in manufacturing and encouraged them to continue their science, technology, and math courses.<\/p>\n

For most weeks, students watched a video on Monday and then researched a company and how its products are made and marketed. Their answers to the trivia questions were submitted to InSolutions on Fridays. Kenneth Chapman, whose seventh grade history class also participated, said his students looked forward to\u00a0the new\u00a0challenge each week.<\/p>\n
