It started out innocently enough with a few misplaced school supplies then escalated to an incident in the nurse\u2019s office. There were cotton swabs that mysteriously turned green and chairs wrapped in gauze.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis guy is very sneaky and devious as we\u2019ve seen here at Creeds,\u201d said Barbara Messina, gifted resource teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Then, a final straw &#8211; green footprints in classrooms and even the restroom in Nancye Flinn\u2019s third grade class.<\/p>\n<p>Something had to be done.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Green-Toilet-Water.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3330\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Green-Toilet-Water.jpg\" alt=\"Green Toilet Water\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Green-Toilet-Water.jpg 720w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Green-Toilet-Water-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a>\u201cWe found tiny green footprints on the toilet and on some of the desks, too.\u201d said Flinn.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, students in the second and third grade classes at the school\u00a0had read the book \u201cThe Leprechaun Trap.\u201d In the book, Liam the Leprechaun, plays similar pranks. So, students recognized the signs.<\/p>\n<p>They knew the only way to stop the Creeds leprechaun, affectionately known as \u201cLucky,\u201d was to catch him in a trap on St. Patrick\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>For days leading up to March 17, students collaborated to use simple machine concepts and materials to build and test their small but sturdy traps. Unfortunately, luck wasn\u2019t on their side and all of the traps were empty.<\/p>\n<p>Although, Lucky did leave a note behind:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>I\u2019m the infamous leprechaun from Creeds.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Who performed many mischievous deeds.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Design a trap! We might meet!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>But ha ha!
