The Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) designated November as &#8220;Take Your Legislator to School\u201d month, and VBCPS had a number of schools that had took part in the initiative. Students at First Colonial, Cox, Tallwood, Salem, Landstown and Ocean Lakes high schools; Salem, Princess Anne and Corporate Landing middle schools; and Strawbridge, Christopher Farms, Green Run, Rosemont and Red Mill elementary schools all hosted legislators.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2778\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2778\" style=\"width: 4128px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2778\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/image.jpg\" alt=\"Delegate Glenn Davis observes class at Strawbridge Elementary. \" width=\"4128\" height=\"2322\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/image.jpg 4128w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/image-300x168.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/image-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/image-500x281.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 4128px) 100vw, 4128px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2778\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Delegate Glenn Davis observes class at Strawbridge Elementary.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to the VSBA, these visits help promote in developing &#8220;closer relationships between school divisions, local communities and our elected officials.&#8221;\u00a0 Additionally, the VSBA said the &#8220;Take Your Legislator to School&#8221; movement can &#8220;create opportunities for productive dialogue so that educational and political leaders can work together to ensure that we provide the best possible education for our students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the benefit of a city and legislative partnership was on display when students at Green Run Collegiate (GRC) students and GRC Board Member Hugh Green visited with Mayor Sessoms.
