\"\"<\/a>For Jeanne Morrison, driving a bus for Virginia Beach City Public Schools isn\u2019t just a job\u2014it\u2019s a calling. With 22 years behind the wheel and a heart full of joy, Jeanne\u2019s enthusiasm for her work is contagious.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the most rewarding job I have ever had. I can\u2019t praise it enough,\u201d Jeanne says, smiling wide.<\/em><\/p>\n

Spend five minutes with her, and you\u2019ll feel it, too. Jeanne\u2019s positive energy is palpable\u2014radiating from every word she speaks and every story she tells about the students and families she\u2019s come to know and love.<\/p>\n

More Than a Route \u2014 It\u2019s a Relationship<\/h2>\n

Jeanne has driven students from kindergarten through high school, forming meaningful bonds along the way. From thoughtful gifts \u2014 like hand-drawn turtles from a student artist or a souvenir keychain brought all the way from Paris \u2014 to heartfelt conversations with parents, Jeanne has found lasting connections through her service.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you give yourself to your kids, they will definitely give [themselves] back,\u201d she says. \u201cYou show them respect, and they\u2019ll show it right back.\u201d<\/p>\n

That mutual respect and care drive everything Jeanne does and has inspired others to step into the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

Support and Opportunity at Every Turn<\/h2>\n

Jeanne is also a bus driver trainer, helping new recruits succeed behind the wheel. The training process is comprehensive, and importantly, paid <\/strong>\u2014 a benefit that has made the opportunity more accessible.<\/p>\n

Trainee Susie Delich moved to Virginia Beach from Arizona after retirement, looking for a flexible way to support her family and spend time with her grandchildren. She found not just a role, but a warm welcome.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody I\u2019ve encountered in leadership has been encouraging. They want you to succeed,\u201d Susie shares.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Jeanne called me the first day, she said, \u2018I\u2019ve been doing this job for 22 years and I love it. It is the best job ever.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The classroom and on-the-road training gave Susie confidence, and being paired with Jeanne made the experience even more special.<\/p>\n

Flexibility for Families, Freedom for Drivers<\/h2>\n

Jeanne\u2019s daily schedule is packed, but she wouldn\u2019t have it any other way. And for those looking for more flexibility, that\u2019s available.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can be a six-hour driver, just do your morning and afternoon runs and go home. And still get the same satisfaction I do,\u201d Jeanne explains.<\/em><\/p>\n

There are also perks families might love \u2014 like being able to bring your child (as young as one year old) on the bus when driving, generous time off aligned with the school calendar, and the option to park your bus at work or at home.<\/p>\n

A Career \u2014 and a Community<\/h2>\n

Whether she\u2019s training, running activity buses, or simply checking in with her fellow drivers, Jeanne embodies what it means to be part of something bigger.<\/p>\n
