Future ball players, doctors, investigators, nail technicians, chefs, graphic designers and other professionals were on full display recently as Point O’View Elementary held its first “Future Self Fashion Show.”
This exciting event offered parents and attendees an insightful look into Virginia Beach City Public Schools academies, programs and middle school opportunities. More importantly, it encouraged students to begin imagining their future careers.
The event was organized by the school counseling team: Justine Palazzolo, Colleen Kennedy and Kristina Quigg.
Fifth graders selected a career that sparked their interest and dove into research to learn more about it. They then crafted a short presentation and designed an outfit representing their chosen profession.
On the night of the show, the young visionaries strutted down the red carpet, showcasing their future selves with pride and creativity.
The evening was a smashing success — filled with inspiration, imagination and a glimpse into the bright futures of students!
