Wednesday, Jan. 28 started the beginning of the second semester, and there is no better time to register for Parent Portal.
This online tool allows parents and legal guardians to monitor their child’s progress in school. Once parents/guardians register, they can access student academic and attendance information from any computer connected to the Internet – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to grades and attendance, parents can view student assignments, missing assignments, standardized test scores and select historic academic and enrollment information.
Registered users of Parent Portal may also download the ParentVUE app to access information right on their mobile devices.
To set up a Parent Portal account, parents/guardians will need an email account and their child’s unique student identification number, also known as a “perm number.” A child’s perm number is found on his/her student report card and is used by students to access services in the school library and cafeteria. Once the registration form is completed and submitted, the information will be verified by school division staff and the new account will be confirmed via email to the registrant.
More details about Parent Portal, including the registration form, technical assistance, contact information and mobile app directions are found on vbschools.com.
