As part of her senior project, Global Studies and World Languages Academy student Lauryn Ferrette wanted to share her passion for art with younger students. She laid out an ambitious plan for art teachers at Landstown Elementary School and went about introducing hands-on activities for the students. But they weren’t just creating artworks, they were exploring other cultures and history.
The project eventually culminated in an global art fair for the community and the experience had an impact on Lauryn as well. Her work with the Landstown students has influenced her future as she plans to enter Old Dominion University this fall and pursue a degree in art education.
