Bayside High School and Health Sciences Academy congratulates Environmental students for receiving the Pearl School Award for the 2013-2014 school year. This is the second year in a row the club has received this prestigious award.
The goal of the Pearl School Award Program is to encourage and support the efforts of teachers and schools to help students understand watershed concepts, develop an ethic of environmental responsibility, and become effective spokespeople for water quality and environmental stewardship in our area. Through the Pearl School Award program, schools earn points by carrying out programs and service projects in and through their schools that teach environmental concepts and include an emphasis on our watershed and its unique characteristics and problems. Students are encouraged to take an active role in tackling some of our environmental challenges through service projects in their schools and community.
